The following Spanish audio clips are part of the Health Program "Ventanas a la Salud" produced along with 15 educational programs on literature, environment, health and social issues in the Advanced Audio Production class of Spring 2007 at the University of the Incarnate Word to be aired at a Parish Radio in Huancané, Perú.

Huancané is one of the 13 provinces of the Peruvian region Puno, neighboring Bolivia. There are three idioms spoken in Puno region: Quechua, Aimará, and Spanish. The poverty rate reaches 78 percent, while the average lifespan is only 60. Our purpose with "Ventanas a la Salud" is to inform the community of preventative health measures that could target the high cases of malnutrition and poor hygiene.

The Spanish educational radio programs were officially presented to the Peruvian Sisters at Incarnate Word Generalate on Thursday, September 20, 2007.

Production made possible by the Spanish and Communication students, under the supervision of  Dr. Amalia Mondríguez and  Prof. Hank McDonnell, at UIW in San Antonio, Texas.
